Summary

The Cayman Islands Government requires tools and the capability to map and monitor vegetation condition (for rare, threatened, and endemic vegetation types). This project uses a proven Earth Observation solution to generate habitat maps and builds on this to develop a condition monitoring approach to achieve conservation outcomes. The Government will be trained in the development and use of the tools to support ongoing assessments, biodiversity conservation efforts and activities to help mitigate negative anthropogenic impacts and climate change.
