Summary

The Orange Cup Coral, Astroides calycularis (hereafter, Astroides), an endemic in the Western Mediterranean is threatened due to several factors such as habitat destruction, fishing impacts and invasive species. The proposed restoration project aims to restore Astroides colonies by transplanting corals fragments onto an artificial reef. By attaching these fragments directly onto the shipwreck, the project seeks to promote coral growth and biodiversity in the area, ultimately supporting the recovery of Astroides populations and enhancing marine ecosystem health.
