Our project objective is to reduce and prevent the damage that is currently happening to the marine ecosystem of the British Virgin Islands as a result of abandoned, lost or otherwise discarded fishing gear (also referred to as ALDFG or ghost gear) that continues to trap and kill marine species and smother coral reefs in an unregulated manner long after the fishing gears intended use.
