WHERE Cayman Islands
Summary
The remote and isolated island of Little Cayman boasts the highest coral cover in the Caribbean. However, global warming and disease are driving many coral species towards extinction, eroding the remarkable diversity of life in our oceans. Here we will map and quantify the demographics of selected critically endangered charismatic coral species around Little Cayman. These efforts will inform conservation management to give these species the best chance for survival in the Anthropocene.
