The Biodiversity Challenge Funds are an advocate for the use of evidence in the design of strong projects. We recognise the importance of generating and sharing evidence of what works – and what doesn’t work – at both the project and fund level. For this reason, we have partnered with Conservation Evidence as an ‘Evidence Champion’.

Conservation Evidence is a free, authoritative information resource designed to support decisions about how to maintain and restore biodiversity. It summarises evidence from the scientific literature about the effects of conservation interventions, such as methods of habitat or species management. Conservation Evidence also publishes new evidence in their open access ‘Conservation Evidence Journal’. Conservation Evidence aims to break down the barriers between published scientific evidence and practitioners, summarises scientific data for different conservation actions, scores those actions for effectiveness, certainty and harms using experts, and maintains a database tool to assist decision making. They also provide guidance, tools and training to organisations to facilitate evidence use and generation. You can find out more here: https://www.conservationevidence.com/
