Summary

Pressures on Grand Cayman’s natural environment remains high and populations of endemic wildlife are largely restricted to within Protected Areas (PAs). This project will strengthen on-island capacity to support effective management of PAs through staff development, community engagement and a trained volunteer network. Conducting essential research and monitoring will fill knowledge gaps regarding endemic wildlife population sizes, threats, habitat use and establish sustainable Invasive Alien Vertebrate management, to target actions and outcomes that effectively safeguard these important wildlife areas.
