Ascension Island’s Green Mountain National Park cloud forest supports a community of native and endemic epiphytic bryophytes, provides habitat for two critically endangered endemic ferns, and is important for climate change resilience. Following the successful 3ha habitat expansion of our existing cloud forest (DPLR1_1062 Head in the Clouds), there is now a focus to ensure survival of the new facilitator trees and upkeep of established areas of cloud forest by clearing persistent, encroaching invasive and non-native flora species.
