Summary
The aim of the proposed project is to carry out a short survey at different habitats with the Wester SBAs in Cyprus (Akrotiri and Episkopi) and raise awareness regarding the importance of hedgehogs, their threats and the need for their conservation. Furthermore, we will investigate the role of hedgehogs as reservoirs for vector borne diseases such as Leishaniasis by collecting roadkill samples and sending them for screening for pathogens at the University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
