WHERE Turks and Caicos Islands
Summary
The Department of Environment and Coastal Resources (DECR) carries out several conservation projects on North and Middle Caicos, TCI’s largest islands. DECR is managing two Darwin Plus projects based on these islands: DPLUS114 and DPLUS129; wildlife and sargassum monitoring, and protected areas management these islands. DECR was dependent on a 19-year-old vehicle for 13 years; as of January 2023 the vehicle is permanently inoperable. DECR desperately requires a field vehicle to continue project and conservation work on these islands.
