Darwin Plus Local Round 6 has launched!

We are thrilled to share that applications for the next round of Darwin Plus Local are now open.

Darwin Plus Local funds projects that protect the unique biodiversity of the UK Overseas Territories (UKOTs) while strengthening their resilience to climate change. Focused exclusively on small-scale environmental initiatives within the UKOTs, Darwin Plus Local supports projects that conserve species and habitats, build local skills and capacity, and generate lasting benefits for people and nature.

Round 6 is welcoming applications for projects with a maximum duration of 12 months (running from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027).

The closing date for Darwin Plus Local Round 6 is 23:59 GMT on 29 December 2025.

In May 2024, we hosted a training webinar to provide applicants interested in applying to Round 4 of Darwin Plus Local with an overview of the application process and an opportunity to ask questions about the grant scheme and application process. This training webinar is still relevant, and we encourage applicants to Round 6 to watch this recording online. You can find a copy of the slides and the recording of the event here.

Top tips for applicants:

• Have a look at the application forms from Darwin Plus Local funded projects here.
• Ask a friend or colleague to read your application for a fresh perspective and to ensure the application form makes sense to someone new to the project idea.
• Plan to submit your application the day before the deadline in case you encounter technical difficulties.
